If you like authentic things, and antiques and want to find out how life used to be in the countryside, then listen to my recommendation and visit the Ljubačke Doline Ethno village and museum, and you won’t regret it.

So I, along with the entire Adria.fun team chose an unusual route on the way from Banja Luka to Sarajevo. First, we started along the Vrbas river, but in Karanovac I decided to go towards Kneževo and Travnik, so the road took me through Ljubačevo.

There we noticed that 4 kilometers from the main road is the Ethno village and museum of Ljubačke Doline. So we said, why not check it out?

The whole story is brutally good. We were greeted at the entrance by the owner Nedeljko Branković, who instructed us on the whole idea. The Ljubačke doline Ethno Village and Museum was conceived and set up as an open-air museum to show the life of a cooperative from this area, its traditional architecture, material culture, and furniture from the end of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century.

The ethno village consists of 40 buildings, of which 2 are permanent installations, 2 different households, a dozen old craft workshops, an old school, a pharmacy, an inn, a church, etc. Everything you can and can’t imagine. A total of more than 6,000 exhibits. The facilities are furnished with authentic furniture and useful items of that time. There are so many cool things…

Will you believe me if I tell you that we took more than 100 photos and then I struggled to choose a few to illustrate this text because they are all too good?

Be that as it may, the ticket costs 1.5 euros and is worth every cent. We also drank real homemade coffee and natural juices because at Nedeljko’s, everything is in line with natural and traditional, and you won’t find cola and other usual drinks here because that doesn’t fit into this super traditional story.

Therefore, start the engine, car, lawnmower, or whatever and head towards Ljubačke Doline. I am sure that the owner himself will meet you there and that after visiting all the exhibits, you will say that the whole story is better in person than we could convey and photograph.
