At 1,200 meters above sea level between the peaks of Osankarica and Velika, there is a lake that, although it has clear crystal water, takes on a black color that originates from layers of peat, i.e. layers created from leaves, twigs, and moss.

This hidden natural treasure, although not large, is surrounded by dense coniferous forests and attracts visitors mostly with its unique mystical atmosphere, color, and beauty.

According to various sources, it is believed that the lake was created back in the Ice Age, and today it is the habitat of numerous plant and animal species that are adapted to the specific conditions of this area. The paths around the lake are ideal for walking and exploring, and because of the untouched nature and peace, a visit to Black Lake provides a special experience.
