The church of St. Nicholas dates from the 11th century and is one of the few preserved pre-Romanesque churches in Croatia. It was built on a Liburnian burial mound of simple stone blocks, with an octagonal base and a small tower, which gives it a unique shape. Although modest at first glance, its clean lines and harmony of proportions reveal a deep understanding of the architectural skills of that era. The church is small in size, with an internal length of only 5.9 meters and a width of 5.7 meters, but despite its size, it radiates monumentality.
