Classics are always in fashion – Restaurant Vuk
Only a few tens of meters away from the heart of Belgrade – the promenade in Kneza Mihaila Street – restaurant Vuk is a place worth visiting.
During my recent stay in Belgrade, my friend Siniša treated me to lunch at Vuk, a well-known and iconic Belgrade restaurant which, apart from its food, is also known for having two outdoor terraces. One in Vuka Karadžića Street and the other in Delijska.
This restaurant has been present for half a century, so there is no way that the food is bad, I thought while Siniša and I were drinking excellent homemade rakia sitting on the other terrace because the temperature in Belgrade that day was an excellent 20 degrees.
Ideal for being outdoors.
The staff are old school and know what they are doing so we didn’t have to wait long for our food. On offer is a true cross-section of the Serbian culinary tradition, such as stuffed zucchini, lamb sarmica, roast veal, gourmet sausages, kebabs, patties, skewers, cutlets, hangers, brizle, rolled liver…
However, the two of us decided on the Karadjordje Steak and the salad.
The lunch was excellent, and with the meal, we also enjoyed great white wine, the name of which I have unfortunately forgotten.
Although I didn’t pay for the lunch, my host did, I had to take a look at it and saw that it was about fifty euros. I think it is good value for money and the atmosphere that restaurant Vuk provides, so it has my recommendation! 🙂
