Delicious food at Čingi lingi čarda!

It is impossible to pass the road from the center of Osijek towards Bilje and Kopačevo without catching sight of the Čingi lingi čardu restaurant. It has been a hot spot for a long time, and it was renovated a few years ago.

We were returning from a visit to Kopački rit, and since it was time for a late lunch, we decided to eat at Čingi Lingi Čardi.

It was a Saturday and the parking lot in front of the restaurant was full of cars, so there was a possibility that there might not be an empty table, and we didn’t make a reservation in advance. The friendly business manager quickly seated us at a table, even though the restaurant was full of guests.

While we were looking at the menus, we also received a fine golden apricot in the form of a spicy aperitif (3 euros). The menu here is really rich and combines the best of Baranja – traditional meat, fish, and game dishes.

The interior of the restaurant itself, with its combination of rustic and modern details, is very harmonious, and I also caught my eye with these interesting hanging details.

As there were four of us, the initial idea was for everyone to eat a different dish, but that quickly fell through the cracks, so in the end we decided that the male part of the team would try the pork loin in sauce with croquettes (15.50 euros), and the female part the stuffed chicken drumstick with potato and bun (11.50 euros).

The loin was very tasty, but the common remark was that the croquettes were too small and inadequate for the whole impression of the portion, while the female part rated the chicken drumstick, fries, and bun as excellent, so we also helped a little in “cleaning their plates“.

The whole bill, including cola, sparkling water, and half a liter of Belje graševina, was 77 euros, the service is good and fast, so the conclusion of the whole team is that you should come back here in the warmer part of the year when you can enjoy the view of nature and the nearby Biljsko lake on the outdoor terrace.
