Escape from civilization – Porer Lighthouse
If you are looking for an exceptional place to escape from civilization, which is not too far from the mainland, then we recommend that you sail to the unique Porer lighthouse.
Porer is the southernmost islet in the Premantura area in the south of the Istrian peninsula, which lies about 2.4 km southwest of Cape Kamenjak. The islet, with a diameter of about 80 meters, is a rocky ridge that protrudes only three meters above sea level.
The Porer lighthouse was built in 1833. Its tower is 35 meters high and is located in the very center of the stone building of the lighthouse, otherwise a ground-floor building with a concrete courtyard. The sunsets on it, say those who have experienced them, are some of the most beautiful on the Adriatic.

The Porer lighthouse is included in the Minimundus park of miniature buildings in Austria near Klagenfurt. 4 thousand pieces of limestone bricks were used for the model, and the construction lasted six months.
Porer has at its disposal two apartments of approx. 40 m2 in size, each offering accommodation for four people. Of course, you can also rent for yourself if you want to be completely alone but at least for two days. 🙂
Swimming is recommended only in the places where the ship normally docks. The sea currents around the islet are very strong throughout the day, so even good swimmers are not recommended to go more than fifty meters away from the shore, so they wouldn’t end up in Italy, heh, heh…
