Mount Prokletije is the perfect destination for lovers of hiking and outdoor adventures. One such top adventure takes place from July 14 to 16 in Gusinje, which will be the center of Europe when it comes to outdoor sports and will host elite runners from the Old Continent. Namely, the European Skyrunning Championship is being organized for the first time in Southeast Europe.

Now you must be wondering what it is? Skyrunning is a mountain running sport at altitudes above 2,000 meters (6,600 ft) where the minimum average gradient is 6% over the total distance and at least 5% of the track has a gradient of 30% or more. Wow…

In addition to the official holding of the European Championship race, which is for professionals, you could register for a regular race, the so-called open race where anyone could enter. The specificity is that the participants of open race start 15 minutes after the official start of the participants of the European Championship. More than 500 competitors from 35+ countries are expected in total, for the EP and the open race. Unfortunately, registrations for this year are over, but this is your opportunity to start planning for the next one so that you can be there too.
