Free spa! Mulino waterfalls are considered one of the most beautiful in the world!
Italy is famous for its beautiful waterfalls that take your breath away, and among them, there are real gems of nature. The Marmore Falls in the Umbria region is one of the most spectacular. With a height of 165 meters, these artificial waterfalls created by the Romans more than two thousand years ago testify to the genius of ancient engineering. However, this country hides a few other equally enchanting waterfalls, such as the Cascate del Mulino, which offer a unique experience.

The Mulino waterfalls are located in southern Tuscany, near Saturnia, famous for its thermal springs. This waterfall is also known as the “free baths of Saturnia” because it offers access to the warm natural pools without any fees. Throughout history, this waterfall has been a gathering place for its healing properties.
Legends say that these springs were created at the place where the god Jupiter, in anger, threw a lightning bolt. Water has always been believed to have divine properties, which is why the Romans used this area for relaxation and healing. Archaeological remains bear witness to their use as far back as ancient Rome, while during the Middle Ages, the springs became a favorite destination for travelers and pilgrims.

The waterfalls are formed from thermal water with a temperature of 37.5 °C, which constantly flows and forms natural pools of sedimented limestone. The water is rich in sulfur, calcium, and other minerals, which makes it ideal for skin and joint therapies. When you arrive here, relaxation awaits you in an environment of natural beauty, where the water, despite all the changes of the seasons, always remains warm.
In addition to the thermal baths, the area around the Mulino waterfalls offers many activities. You can explore the charming village of Montemerano, with its narrow stone streets, or taste local products such as olive oil and wine. The region is known for its excellent white and red wines and local cuisine that will surely leave a special impression on you.
