Greeting the sun in Zadar is certainly the world’s most famous sunset

Zadar, a city of rich history and enchanting beauty, is home to one of the most innovative art installations in the world – Greeting to the Sun.

Greeting to the Sun, the work of the famous Croatian architect Nikola Bašić was installed on the Zadar waterfront, offering visitors an unforgettable experience.

The installation consists of three hundred solar panels placed at the same height as the stone paving of the waterfront in the form of a circle with a diameter of 22 meters. This installation uses the sun’s energy during the day and turns it into a light spectacle when night falls.

In addition to the Greeting to the Sun, the installation also shows the other planets of the Solar System. The sizes of the plates of the Sun and the planets are proportional, as well as the distance of the center of each plate to itself.
