Lamb under the honeycomb at Meat & Wine roastery

I never regret the money I spend on food and a good atmosphere. I’d rather save money by not buying new shoes or a piece of clothing than by not going to a restaurant for a good meal. This was also the case during the summer tour of the Adria fun team in Montenegro.

On the stretch between Budva and Kotor, we came across the Meat & Wine roastery, in the Radanovići settlement, which seemed like a nice place for a late summer lunch.

We sat on the outdoor terrace in the thickest shade we could find while a light wind blew, bringing a certain freshness. Meat and Wine Roastery is a biker-friendly place, and several bikers were parked at the entrance.

The waiter arrived quickly and kindly and deftly recommended that we try the homemade lamb under the honeycomb with potatoes cut in half and prepared together with the lamb. The editor-in-chief of the Adria.fun chose chicken with gorgonzola sauce (haha, I felt sorry for her…).

While we were waiting for the main course, to refresh ourselves from the road and the summer “fjaka” (the state of laziness or a feeling of doing nothing), we sipped homemade rakija and veal soups. Mmm, delicious…

The dish was truly excellent, the meat melted in the mouth, and the potatoes were imbued with all the flavors of the spices that remained under the honeycomb during baking. The whole great impression was completed by the original tableware made of olive wood. The editor also praised the chicken with gorgonzola sauce, which was not in such a dish… 🙂

After a nice lunch, what a surprise, we spotted a museum called the Antik Bazaar, which is located within the roastery. There were hundreds of interesting objects in it, and the staff told us that it could also be bought. Indeed, I have never seen anything like this anywhere. Antiques and lamb…what a combination.

Now is the time to talk about the prices. Cola is 2.8 euros, rakija 2.5, Nikšićko beer (0.5 l) 3.50, sparkling (0.75 l) 3.50 and coffee 1.5 euros. As for the food, veal soup is 3.50 euros, a portion of lamb is 14.50 euros and chicken with gorgonzola sauce is 12 euros.

In total, the bill for three people was 76.70 euros, which we assessed together as good value for money, so Meat and Wine Roastery is Adria.fun approved.
