Nevidio Canyon – an exciting mountaineering challenge unique in Europe!
In the northern part of Montenegro, near the town of Šavnik, there is one of the most impressive natural wonders – the Nevidio Canyon. It is part of the Durmitor National Park and stretches for 3.5 kilometers.
Nevidio Canyon, whose name means “unseen”, was discovered only in 1965. Its name comes from the fact that the Komarnica River suddenly disappears in an unusual gorge, thus becoming “invisible”.

Nevidio Canyon is a natural wonder that was created when the mountains Durmitor and Vojnik collided millions of years ago.
This canyon is a unique combination of high and steep cliffs, clear water, narrow passages, waterfalls, cascades, and numerous other phenomena created by nature over thousands of years.
The most challenging part of this canyon is the Kamikaze Gate, a part that is only 25 centimeters wide and 80 meters long. This stretch causes the most daring to tingle.
Once you enter the Nevidio Canyon, the only way out is at the other end, but don’t worry. Although the first association is the inaccessibility of the terrain, Nevidio is a beginner-friendly site, but not without a guide.
