Nova Gradiška is resonating with full force once again! The 29th Nova Gradiška Music Summer is coming back!

In the heart of August, when the heat rises from the asphalt and summer is at its peak, Nova Gradiška once again transforms into the biggest open-air stage in continental Croatia. From August 15 to 18, King Tomislav Square and the surrounding city streets will host the 29th edition of Nova Gradiška Music Summer. This festival has long outgrown its local roots and become a must-visit destination for lovers of music, fun, and Slavonian hospitality.

Last year, we arrived in town with a local radio station playing, searching for a parking spot and some shade under the trees in the park. This year, we already know it’s best to arrive early, because NG Summer waits for no one. With more than 60 thousand visitors over four days, this is an event that pulses with life from the first chord to the final light on stage.

As always, NG Summer opens with the exhibition “Forest Through the Eyes of a Forester,” which this year celebrates its 20th edition. The Forestry Society of Nova Gradiška will once again present the richness of forest landscapes and the importance of nature preservation, serving as a prelude to what follows: an explosion of sound, scent, and color.

BIG NAMES, EVEN BIGGER EXPERIENCES

The main stage of this year’s edition will feature some of the most prominent names of the regional music scene:

  • Thursday, August 15: Rockeri, Valentino, Vatra, Grše, and Urban&4 – sounds familiar? These same performers opened the show last year, and their return proves just how much the audience loves this mix of nostalgia, live energy, and youthful power. On the summer stage: Krankšvester.
  • Friday, August 16, is reserved for Slavonian soul and urban beats – Tambura band Satir, the legendary Gazde, Hiljson Mandela & Miach, and the ever-popular Jole. Summer stage: Šank.
  • Saturday, August 17, brings a program for all generations: the traditional “Children Sing the Hits” festival, a music workshop with Matej Predojević Petrić, and evening performances by Jelena Rozga and Saša Matić. Summer stage: Dance Hard by DJ Kneža.
  • Sunday, August 18, will close the festival with performances by the City Tamburitza Orchestra of Nova Gradiška and the beloved Frajle, whose timeless voices always leave the crowd breathless.

Entry to all concerts is, as always, free.

NOT JUST MUSIC BUT EVERYTHING ELSE TOO

As we learned last year, NG Summer is not just about music. There are the scents of barbecue and fresh lavender, handmade crafts, stands with local wine, honey, and souvenirs, as well as a funfair for children, horse carriage rides, and creative workshops in the shade of the park. While music echoes from the main stage, the park fills with children’s voices and the hum of visitors gathered around cafes and booths, all knowing that Nova Gradiška becomes the heart of summer joy during these days.

Be sure to also stop by the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which again this year will remain open throughout the night. If you can, bring someone who hasn’t been before, because this experience is best when shared.

A FESTIVAL THAT GROWS WITH TIME

Since its beginning in 1996, Nova Gradiška Music Summer has become the most important open-air festival in Slavonia and one of the cultural highlights of continental Croatia. Once known for its industry, the city is now increasingly recognized for its culture, atmosphere, and the unique energy it offers during these four summer days.

If you missed it last year, don’t make the same mistake again. If you were there, you already know why you’re coming back.

📍 See you in Nova Gradiška from August 15 to 18.
