Sahara star – one super hotel in Mumbai
I traveled to India twice, in 2018 and 2019. The first experience was extremely traumatic for me, especially when driving in the city because of the big crowd, non-stop honking, and driving without any order or sense. Of course, because of the excitement of discovering something new and so different than what I was used to. It was about the city of Bangalore, located in the southern part of the Indian subcontinent.
Apart from the trauma of driving through the city, where I constantly had the feeling that we were going to have a collision even though I didn’t see one during my several days of stay, India left me fascinated by its contrasts, between beautiful and kitsch, wealth and poverty, excessive kindness and phlegmatic people, unhygienic conditions and garbage everywhere to perfectly clean squares, extremely spicy food and fear of infection. I was still “infected” enough by India that I wanted to repeat the trip. And the opportunity appeared only a year later.
The second trip was to Mumbai on the coast of the Arabian Sea. The impression was much better than the one during the first visit, and in addition to the city, I was also fascinated by the hotel where my friends placed me, at whose invitation I arrived.
It was about the Sahara Star hotel, which is interesting and unique because almost all of its rooms and balconies face inwards, so you don’t have a view of the city from the rooms, but of a square with tropical plants, water and paths, as well as several bars and lounge areas. In this way, you avoid the city noise, which is huge, but also air pollution, which is very present in such a densely populated city.

If you want to see how much the hotel staff cares about tidiness and hygiene, people say that it is best to go to the toilet, so that’s what I did. What do you think?
The hotel staff is very friendly and unobtrusive, which is usually not the case in India. Their prices are moderate because it is a five-star hotel after all. In addition to the accommodation, I also enjoyed the food in this hotel without fear of infection due to the very high standards of cleanliness. However, the story about food requires an additional text, which I will write about soon.

Special attention is paid to the security of the guests, so there is no way you will enter the hotel without being thoroughly inspected and scanned at the entrance, so if your trip ever takes you to Mumbai, I suggest you stay at this very interesting hotel, you will not go wrong.
