Ptuj Castle, also known as Ptuj Grad, is a historic castle dating back to the 11th century, however, sources claim it was even settled in the 5th millennium BC. Its history is pretty long and well-preserved, and it reflects the evolution of defensive structures based on the needs of its occupants over the centuries.

Today, this castle serves as a complex of museums and galleries, such as the Ptuj Ormož Regional Museum, and the Ptuj Castle Gallery.  So by visiting this castle, you will be able to see a wide range of artifacts and exhibits that provide an overview of the region’s history and culture.
