Autumn in Ludbreg! This year’s edition of Wine & Walk is starting soon!
I believe that we are all already familiar with the wine & walk concept, which in Croatia every year gets more and more different or similar formats in all counties that can really boast of excellent wines. One such festival, which we also visited last year, and which is located in the very center of the world, takes place next week, 26.10 to be exact, in Ludbreg.
There are never enough reasons, so let’s go!

If you didn’t know until now, Ludbreg has been a popular place of pilgrimage for centuries, and the organizers made sure to somehow fit it into this event. The pedestrian part of this Wine & Walk Ludbreg will take you along a route between two Ludbreg “saints” – the statues of St. Martin and St. Vincent, which is about 12 kilometers long and is generally very easy to pass.
Everything starts from the very center, more specifically the Otok Mladosti Park, where all pre-registered visitors are introduced to the route to be walked, the wineries you will visit, and where excellent local cuisine awaits you. We also received a starter package that contained a tasting glass, a route map, a voucher for participation, and water.
After that, you drink either coffee or something strong, depending on who likes what, and get on the bus that will take you to the first station.

At the first station, you will be greeted by a toast and Saint Martin, who together with all visitors will “baptize” the road and wish you a good time. To be honest, this was very interesting for me personally, so we talked with him a bit, and got a pose for a photo.
And now we may start our adventure…

The roads led us downhill and uphill. At times it wasn’t easy for us, because after every stop and fine wine, although you don’t feel it so much in your head, you definitely feel it in your legs. We tried everything and anything, from the excellent wines of the Stručić Winery, the Kirić Wine House, the Trsek Ludbreg Winegrowers Association, the Grački grozdek Winegrowers and Winemakers Association, and DeMar wines, which participate every year, to the various delicacies prepared by these excellent hosts.
If you are a fan of sweet wines, the yellow muscat of the Mala kuća Graci winery was excellent for me, as well as the Rhen Riesling of the DeMar winery.

While you are walking through the beautifully painted landscape, you will surely fall in love with these two beautiful horses that attracted attention or the chestnuts that we collected everywhere.

Some of the wineries made an effort, so they had corners for taking pictures, and along the way, the organizers made an effort to make us laugh a little with their hidden messages.

At the end, when you reach the statue of St. Vincent with a full belly, both from wine and food, know that the adventure has come to an end! But not for long, because upon your return to the Otok Mladosti Park, another series of good fun and good drops awaits you.
However, because of what awaited us in the accommodation, we skipped this part and decided to relax with a slightly different atmosphere.
