Bistro Ribič is a great idea for Sunday lunch

A trip to the Gacka Valley is never a bad idea, and after a walk through the beautiful and untouched nature, it’s great to stop by the famous Bistro Ribič in Otočac.

I did that with my family after visiting several of the area’s attractions. Then we stopped by Ribič, located right next to the Gacka River.

The parking lot immediately told me that the bistro was full, so I recommend you reserve your spot, especially if you want to sit on the terrace overlooking the Gacka River. We weren’t so lucky this time, we sat inside the building and washed down our sorrows with some rakija.

From the menu, I see that the menu offers domestic and local cuisine with plenty of fish and baked potatoes, which is quite logical for a restaurant located by the river and in Lika. What is great are the prices of food and drinks, and I will talk about that at the end of this story.

The family decided to warm up a bit with a nice homemade mushroom soup, which arrived very quickly despite the crowd in the restaurant.

The continuation was not fish, but my wife and I decided on the Ribič meat platter for two people, which was so abundant that I still remember it today even though we were in Ribič a few months ago.

The platter goes perfectly with the salad, which was also excellent. In any case, if you’re hungry at your arrival here, you won’t be after you “get to work“.

Vegetarian pizza was my daughter’s choice, and you can only partially experience its richness of flavors and ingredients through this photo.

The entire lunch for three people came to 52.50 euros, which is a very fair price for what you get, especially considering that we paid 20 euros for a meal for two people and only 7 euros for a pizza.

The pleasure of Sunday lunch was even greater, so I recommend that you test it out for yourself!
