Bučijada can begin! Beer, soups, bučnica! Who’s ready to try it all?

Fall officially started 3 days ago and now it’s time to forget about the summer delights and indulge in the delicious smells of pumpkins, and summer squashes. What do you say about trying beers, or creamy soups with a bit of fall spice? Sounds like a great deal to us!

Now all you have to do is to sit in your car and drive towards Ivanić Grad, about 40 kilometers from Zagreb, and join us at the Bučijada festival from the 6th until the 8th of October.

Besides trying beer and soups, you will get to try the famous Croatian bučnica (a strudel-like pie filled with summer squash, fresh cheese, cream, and eggs wrapped in a thin dough) a delight present in northern and eastern parts of the country.

From pumpkin specialties, you will have the opportunity to try pralines filled with pumpkin spread, pumpkin cream, and cakes and buy local pumpkin oil and other products

At Bučijada you will find something for everyone. They even have a program for kids called Little Bučijada where the youngest visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of workshops, competitions in eating pumpkin kremšnite (cremeschnitte), a magic show, competition in archery, storytelling, and other activities.

And for grown-ups, besides trying on delicious bučnica and pumpkin beer, sales and hospitality activities, a music program has been prepared.

But that is not all!

Organizers also prepared a cooking show in which famous Croatian chefs Melkior Bašić and Damir Tomljanović will be preparing pumpkin specialties. The show will happen on Saturday, 7.10 from 12:00 p.m.– 2:00 p.m. at Vladimira Nazor Square.  On Sunday you will be able to participate in a workshop that will be held by Kornelija Benyovsky Šoštarić from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in Moslavačka Street.

And for an end, if you visit Bučijada, then you must have a ride in their pumpkin carriage!

For all visitors, they secured over 400 free parking spots across the city and Bučko-Express to Ivanić Grad.
