Exceptional KNEBU wines await you for tasting at the Zagreb Underground!

Only 50 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, in the historically important Tomislavgrad, are the Knebu vineyards extending up to 965 meters above sea level.

The area of Duvanjsko polje is difficult to compare with any wine-growing and wine-growing region in Croatia. It represents untouched, unpolluted, and dramatic natural wilderness surrounded by mountain massifs, peaks, watercourses, and lakes.

The Knebu winery owns its vineyards on the sunny slopes of Duvanjsko polje. It is proud of the fact that it is one of the highest positions for growing vines in the world. Why is height important but also challenging?

Growing grapes at high altitudes has numerous advantages that affect the quality and character of the wine. It contributes to a more intense taste and aroma of the grapes due to cooler temperatures that enable the development of different characteristics such as minerality and piquancy, as well as high acids that give the wine freshness and extend its shelf life.

Dramatic weather conditions cause sudden and powerful reactions in the vineyard, releasing energy bursting with charge. Large fluctuations in temperature during the day and night, intense UV radiation, and strong wind are challenges that the grapes of the Knebu winery face every day. These conditions often lead to a smaller harvest, but more concentrated grapes with more intense flavors and aromas.

The Knebu vineyard covers an area of 15 hectares where some of the noblest grape varieties are grown – chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, traminac, pinot noir, and merlot.

You have the opportunity to enjoy and taste the wines of the Knebu winery at the upcoming ZAGREB UNDERGROUND, which will be held in the Tunnel Grič from April 12 to 14.

In addition to Knebu wine, you can taste more than 200 Croatian wines and delicacies such as prosciutto, cheese, and olive oil…, and you will be entertained by the Disco Magic Band, with legendary performances by Abba, Boney M, Chic, and other stars of the legendary Studio 54.
