When it comes to White Tabija, multiple sources are claiming different times of its construction. Some believe that White Tabija was built somewhere around 1550, and then destroyed at the time of the contraction of Vratnik city, some say that it could have been constructed in the same place of a different fort between the 14th and 15th centuries. No matter which timing is correct, it is still equally mesmerizing and magnificent.

Throughout the centuries, White Tabija has served as a protective bastion guarding the natural entrance to Sarajevo.

For many years, this historical fort was left alone slowly deteriorating until the city of Sarajevo decided to renovate it and put it into function.

Today, White Tabija, designated as a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stands as a testament to the city’s rich history while captivating tourists with its most breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Sarajevo.

If you wish to visit it, you may do so every day from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and the ticket price is 2.5 euros (5KM).
