Radovljica is like a time capsule that takes you through the centuries. Its well-preserved medieval old town center will charm you with its stone streets, squares, and original houses that look like a fairy tale.

For these reasons, Radovljica has been used more than once as a backdrop for filming commercials, such as an advertisement for the well-known products of the Italian cake and candy company Bauli.

Radovljica is known for its long tradition of beekeeping and honey production. The city, therefore, became a real sweet capital of beekeeping and chocolate.

Radovljica is also called the sweetest place in Slovenia, and the locals use the word Radol’ca for the name of their town.

Be sure to visit the
Museum of Beekeeping (Čebelarski muzej) to learn more about this fascinating tradition. Also, don’t miss the chance to try some of the finest chocolates at the Chocolate Festival.

The old city center is enriched with numerous museums, galleries, and restaurants. Be sure to try some of the famous Slovenian specialties such as struklji, carniola sausages, and various types of cheese.

Don’t forget to drink a glass of excellent Slovenian wine that will complete your gastronomic experience.
