Travel to Sofia for under 60 euros in August

If you wish to visit Sofia in Bulgaria, then August is a perfect time to do that. Not only that we found one, but two great deals. 

But before you book a flight and visit the beautiful city of Sofia, let’s take a look at a few things you can see in the time spent there.

St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral

St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral is Sofia’s most famous monument, and a must place to visit. It is one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world and Balkan. The entrance is free unless you choose to take photos.

 

Boyana Church

Take a look at this 900-year-old church located at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. Yes, it is a must-visit place. Within the church, you can also check out the National Museum. It offers everything from history, art, and cultural artifacts.

Boyana Waterfall

If you want to enjoy some greenery throughout the visit and you are already in the Boyana neighborhood, then you should take a 2-hour hike to the beautiful Boyana Waterfall. It’s worth it! 

 

Bells park

Bells Park is a cherished green oasis in Sofia characterized by its lush gardens, vibrant flower beds, and shady tree-lined paths. At this monument, you can see 100 different bells from all around the world surrounding the main bell tower. 

 

 

Church of St George

Church of St. George is the oldest building in Sofia, dating to the 4th century AD. The church survived numerous transformations and historical events over the centuries.

Sofia’s rich history will leave you breathless. There is a lot more to see. Sofia is filled with monuments, historical museums, and parks. Also don’t forget to try some local food such as kavarma, tarator, or banitsa,  and drinks such as local rakia. 

 

 

Now let’s get back to flight details. One flight is leaving from Zagreb and another from Zadar.

 

Zagreb to Sofia flight is a 5 days trip from August 8th to 13th, and costs 41 €. This will allow you to check the city in more detail. 

 

However, if you wish to go for only 3 days trip, you can do so from Zadar, and the flight leaves on August 10th and returns on the 13th. The price of the return ticket is 51 €.
