Where to eat pizza on Vir island?

Labour Day and the long weekend took me to the island of Vir, for a family celebration. On the first evening, after a long trip, I was hungrier than ever. While strolling through the centre of Vir, I came across a small but intriguing restaurant with an even more intriguing name. What caught my eye was a big sign that promised exactly what I craved – pizza. It became my little “seaside” ritual – as if we don’t have it on the mainland – so instead of fish and Dalmatian delicacies, I always go for something “familiar”.
I’m not generous when it comes to pizza reviews, because it’s hard to speak objectively about something that comes in so many forms, and everyone has their taste. Personally, I’m a big fan of Neapolitan-style pizza, so I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted one on a neighboring plate. But you know – even Neapolitan can be bad, or it can be excellent. Still, I decided that this restaurant, Bella Ciao, was worth sharing with you. So if this sounds like your thing – go ahead and give it a try, based on my review.

Since the rest of the family was with me, we decided to celebrate being together and treat ourselves to a diverse selection of dishes. The orders were quite colorful: a Neapolitan with prosciutto and radicchio, another with burrata, a vegetarian one with pesto and basil, one with prosciutto and figs, and finally, homemade gnocchi with no less than five types of cheese.
The pizzas were rich, the dough soft – honestly, there’s nothing more to say but: yum!

Along with the pizza, there were also beers, juices, and – I have to admit – excellent cocktails.

From so much good food, my mind completely drifted – I didn’t even manage to take photos of the rest of the place. But I can say this: everything looked spot on from the spacious open-air terrace to the cozy, well-designed indoor area. The staff were polite and very quick – just the way it should be. I also found them on social media, so feel free to check them out for yourself.

As for the prices – considering it’s not yet peak season – I really can’t complain. The price-to-quality ratio was more than fair. Compared to some pizzas I’ve had before (and paid more for), what we got here was truly satisfying. The total bill for the six of us came to 116 euros.
So to wrap it up, I’ll say what we always say – it gets the Adria.fun seal of approval!
