Opening of the trail Crvena stijena – Magara cave
Recently, the Psiho vodič association arranged and marked the hiking trail on Velje Brdo, also known as Crvena stijena, which is located northwest of Podgorica.
An attractive newly renovated pedestrian and recreational trail leads from Marezi to the Crvena stijena fortress (229 m/asl) and the Magara cave.
There is no reliable evidence about the time of the Crvena stijena fortification. On the basis of its architecture, it can be concluded that it was built during the time of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, and some claim that it originates from the time of the Ottoman Empire, so even today, the locals call it the Turkish fortress.

The length of the trail from the starting point in Mareza to the Crvena stijena fortress and then to the Magara cave is about 1.9 kilometers, with a height difference of approximately 220 m. The descent from Crvena stijena to the cave is somewhat steeper in one part and has more demanding parts that consist of walking on rocks, so extra caution is required.
