Pizza Festival 2025: Where Naples Meets Zagreb

If you’re visiting Zagreb this May and wondering where to find great food, good vibes, and local culture in one place, mark your calendar for the Pizza Festival Zagreb 2025, which will take place from May 8 to 18 at  Dr. Franje Tuđmana Square. 

Now in its fourth edition, this open-air festival is dedicated entirely to one of the world’s most beloved dishes — pizza. But it’s not just any pizza. Here, you’ll get to taste everything from authentic Napoletana to Sicilian-style sfincione, as well as fried calzone-style pizza known as pizza fritta. More than 10 vendor booths will serve up their creative interpretations of this Italian classic, using high-quality ingredients, slow-fermented dough, and plenty of imagination.

Well-known Croatian pizzerias such as Pizza Re, Pizza Social Club, RougeMarin, Al Dente, Zagyland, and Pizza Fritta will each offer a unique selection of pizzas — from classics like Margherita and Mortadella to inventive combinations with pesto, stracciatella, spicy salami, or even sweet-and-savory toppings.

Beyond pizza, visitors can enjoy fresh pasta dishes prepared inside giant Grana Padano cheese wheels, Italian-style gelato, and signature cocktails inspired by Mediterranean flavors. A central bar will serve wine, beer, and spritzes to keep the atmosphere festive.

The festival isn’t just for foodies — it also features a full program of entertainment and activities, including live DJ performances, open-air movie nights, interactive workshops, and a dedicated kids’ zone with trampolines and games, making it a family-friendly destination. Evenings are particularly vibrant, combining the buzz of a local food market with the charm of a summer party.

Entry to the Pizza Festival is free, and the location is just a short walk from the city center, making it easily accessible to both locals and tourists.
