Captain’s Lake was named after Captain Mušović, who defended every stone on the shores of this lake for years during Turkish rule.

According to legend, the Captain’s Lake was created when a fairy forgot to close the source from which the fairies drew their strength. The spring flooded the valley, creating the lake we know today. 🙂

You can reach the Captain’s Lake, which is located on the Lukavica mountain, by car from the direction of Nikšić, and if you are coming from the direction of Kolašin, you can reach the lake by hiking trails. However, this option is recommended only for the advanced hikers.

After it snows, a small waterfall is activated in the vicinity of Captain’s Lake, which gives a special charm to this natural beauty.
