The most beautiful gem under Igman! The Stojčevac picnic area is a true oasis

In the greenery and silence, just a few kilometers from the center of Sarajevo, a true little miracle of nature is hidden – the picnic area Stojčevac in Hrasnica.

It is located at the foot of the Igman mountain, near Velika Aleja and Vrelo Bosne, and represents a real small oasis of nature.

The air here is fresher and cleaner, and the temperature in summer is more pleasant than in the city itself. Stojčevac is rich in numerous plant species, and the stream that forms a small lake further contributes to its idyllic atmosphere.

Before the war, this place was known as a picnic spot for the communist elite, and nearby was the Sarajevo residence of the president of Yugoslavia and communist leader Josip Broz Tito.

Although the buildings in Stojčevac were significantly devastated during the last war, the fascinating nature remained almost untouched. In the meantime, efforts have been made to restore this resort to its former glory.

The best accommodation in the vicinity of Stojčevac can be found at the Orange Hotel in Sarajevo.

The access roads have recently been asphalted, the circular path renovated, lighting installed, two basketball courts built, and there are also plans to build a small soccer field with artificial grass.

Stojčevac has always been a favorite place for vacations, family gatherings, and excursions. Given its rich history, restoration, and natural beauty, there is no doubt that it will continue to be so.
