More than 40 artists will arrive to Šibenik, bringing you genres such as electronica, indie pop, jazz, rock, hip hop, world music, R&B, neo-folk, punk-rock -u, classics, and many more… From Bad Daughter and Fran Vasilić, through Tolstoy and Rotormotor. A number of new European and Croatian names will be performing at as many as six stages.
2. 65 PANELISTS
As many as 65 music professionals from 16 countries will share their experiences on panels on Friday and Saturday on the topic of showcase festivals, digital distribution, diversity, but also the advantages of export platforms. 3. NU GENEA LIVE BAND CONCERT
The opening concert with Nu Genea as headliners is something not to be missed. Nu Genea is a project of DJs Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquelina, which in its live band version counts nine outstanding musicians on stage. Studying the music of their native region, this Italian disco group found a unique dance form that nostalgically echoes the Neapolitan disco releases from the 70s and 80s of the last century.
4. 6 LOCATIONS
SHIP is held at six locations, two of which are completely free concerts. Two stages are located at St. Michael’s Fortress, which is recognized around the world as a perfect location for concerts, two stages are located in the Azimut club, and the Arsen and Tunel art house in the underground of the former military complex within the overhaul shipyard. The outdoor location of the Azimut Club and the Arsen Art House will have a free concert program.
5. TICKETS ARE NOT EXPENSIVE
A pro pass ticket, with which you can really do anything and everywhere, costs only 65 euros, while festival tickets for certain days can be found from 19 to 29 euros.
6. SHIP AS A SPRINGBOARD
If you come to SHIP and one of the bands becomes mega popular in a few years, you will be able to say that you listened to them among the first in Šibenik back in 2023.
7. BORIS PLEŠA EXHIBITION
Boris Pleša is a graphic designer with many years of experience who runs his own studio and published a monograph entitled “It’s Not Only Rock ‘N’ Roll”. He will be holding a must-see exhibition of his original illustrations at Azimut from Wednesday 13th September.
8. EXTENDED SUMMER
Unlike July and August, which were full of surprises, September is absolutely beautiful in terms of weather and sunny days. There is no need to talk about the beauties of Šibenik, so SHIP is an opportunity for four days of enjoying the extended summer mood, dancing, good bands, and socializing in the city of culture and music.
9. BANJ AND JADRIJA BEACHES
Banj and Jadrija are the two most famous places for swimming in Šibenik. Banj City Beach is located a few minutes walk from the city center of Šibenik. It is pebbly and offers a view of St. Anthony’s Canal as well as one of the SHIP locations – St. Michael’s Fortress. In addition to Banj, Jadrija is a mandatory pit stop – the beach is already recognized as a top location for a good selfie and refreshments and drinks between concerts.
10. CULTURAL UPGRADE and GASTRONOMY
Šibenik offers so much that you must see. Just a couple of keynotes – 4 fortresses – you will be at one during the concerts. Then there is the Cathedral of St. James (+ 23 more churches as many as Šibenik has), the St. Anthony’s Canal, the city museum, the Aquarium, four wells, and last but not least – the Dražen Petrović memorial playground. Drniška prosciutto, sardines, fresh tuna, grilled fish, olives, figs, red wine, Skradin sausages, or risotto that is prepared for 12 hours – all this can be found in a city not only of first-class cultural monuments but also of top gastronomy.
