Building a winery without tradition, with a lot of love, but little experience, in an area where everyone makes wine mainly for their own needs, in a vineyard that is almost unknown in Croatia – only crazy people can do that.

This is how former minister Tomislav Tolušić honestly describes his unique story about the boutique winery Apolitico.

With the blessing and encouragement of the late father, the Tolušić family embarked on this crazy story that no one believed. They decided to turn their love for the vineyard, grapes, and wine into one of the most modern boutique wineries in Slavonia – a family winery of the 21st century that produces wines that will redefine the status and position of Graševina as our most recognizable, but at the same time, most underrated wine variety.

The Apolitico winery is located in the Rezovac vineyards, in the small village of Rezovac near Virovitica. In a special part of the cellar, there are large and small wooden barrels made of oak, wild cherry, and chestnut. This is where the magic of producing red and white wines, according to a special recipe and in a limited series, takes place.

In addition to wooden barrels, this space is also equipped with large-capacity hand-made amphorae originating from Georgia (Qvervi) in which, among the few in Croatia, top-quality red wines with specific aromas, flavors, and aromas are made.

The winery produces about 60,000 liters of wine annually, and the range of exceptional wines consists of fresh, aged, and dessert wines.

But that is not all. A special part of the Apolitico winery is the modern tasting room, which creates an environment ideal for people with an open mind, style, and taste. The closed part of the tasting room has forty seats, and you can also enjoy it on the large terraces with a view of the nearby hills, forests, and vineyards.
