Ugar river sends kisses from Vlašić to Vrbas!
Before joining the Vrbas, about twenty kilometers downstream from Jajce, the Ugar River will travel almost 45 kilometers from its source on the Vlašić mountain.
Descending from it from a height of 1,550 meters, the Ugar River (long before it had the name Brzica), cold and clean, begins its magnificent journey intertwining with other rivers and restrained by human hands (mini hydropower plants), forming a landscape of unprecedented beauty.
After a short and deep canyon at the source, the river enters Pougarje, under the Ranča mountain. Then it enters a deep and long canyon below Skender Vakuf.
There, in a great fall, the cascading bed is deep, narrowed between high stone blocks, collecting water from many streams, ravines, and mountain springs along the way.

Ugar got its name from the fact that it was the border of Jajčačka Banovina, which is a Croatian-Hungarian border with the Ottomans. Its lower course forms the entity border between the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska.
THE UGAR RIVER IS A PLACE WHERE THE VICE AND THE BEAR DRINK WATER TOGETHER, WHERE THE NIGHT APPEARS SUDDENLY, AND THAT HIDES EXCITING STORIES AND LEGENDS.

Hungarian trout, with bright, almost silvery pigmentation, found its refuge in Ugar. However, the Californian version of this favorite delicacy is mostly offered in restaurants.

The surroundings of Ugar are also adorned by two exceptional waterfalls, Ugrić and Ilomska, whose thunderous sound echoes through the valleys. They are a symbol of life, strength, and continuous movement.

Regardless of the seasons, the Ugar flows continuously, feeding the land and shaping the landscape. Ugar is more than a river, it is a song that is constantly sung, a story that is constantly told.
