Kurija Janković – a perfect escape from the busy city life

Kurija Janković is an exceptional four-star heritage hotel located in the town of Kapela Dvor, where Slavonia embraces Podravina and the surroundings of the UNESCO Transboundary Mura-Drava-Danube Biosphere Reserve. It is a cultural asset and is protected as a cultural monument.

Kurija was built during the 19th century in the spirit of calm historicism and represents one of the most elegant noble country houses in Virovitica-Podravina County. It got its present form mainly during the time of the owner of Geze pl. Janković around 1880. Over the years, it changed owners, and until the seventies of the 20th century, it had a specific purpose and was relatively well maintained.

After that, Kurija, in its hundred years of existence, became somewhat forgotten, abandoned, and dilapidated until 2012. The Virovitica-Podravina County then buys it and begins the process of its complete renovation, which was completed in 2014. Kurija Janković is today a gem of architectural heritage that offers sophistication and elegance in the role of a hotel.

Kurija Janković has 18 comfortable double rooms in three categories: Standard, Superior, and Deluxe. All rooms are equipped with satellite TV, free wireless internet, a heating and cooling system, a minibar, a private safe, a telephone line, a hairdryer, and toiletries.

In the hotel restaurant, which has a capacity of 40 seats, guests of the hotel are served a traditional Slavonian-Podravine breakfast prepared exclusively from locally produced ingredients, and all other meals are subject to prior notice and agreement.

There is also a coffee bar, a meeting room, a conference hall, a souvenir shop, and the possibility to rent electric or mountain bikes to explore the surroundings. The hotel is located on the routes of two of the most famous European cycling routes: the Drava Route and EuroVelo 13 – the Iron Curtain Route, and 15 bicycles are available to guests.
