Savica Waterfall: a unique waterfall in Slovenia
Slovenia can really brag about its nature, especially about its lakes and steeping unique waterfalls. One such waterfall is located not far from Lake Bohinj situated in the Triglav National Park.
The Savica waterfall is 78 meters tall and slopes down a vertical cliff creating a mesmerizing scene surrounded by lush greenery and rocky cliffs. It originates from two underground karst springs, where water emerges from the depths of the surrounding mountains and forms the Savica stream. The streams then flow down the rocky slopes.
In order to get to Savica waterfall you will need to take a short hike from the entrance at Planinski dom Savica either with a car or a short boat ride from Lake Bohinj. The hike takes about 20 minutes with some climbing and the trail has several places to rest and several viewing platforms that offer different perspectives of the waterfall and a great place to take pictures from.

This waterfall is definitely something you should see at least once in your life. The best time is during the spring and early summer months when the snow melts from the surrounding mountains, and the water flow is at its strongest.
The only thing you still need to know is that the ticket to the waterfall is 3 euros for adults and 1.5 euro for kids (7-14) and those younger than 7 years old is free. The experience is something you will need to tell us more about!
