Experience an unforgettable adventure in Banja Luka with the Buk rafting club

The Dalai Lama, a Tibetan religious and political leader, said a long time ago, “Once a year, go to a place you’ve never been before.”  And I’ll add to his statement:  and do something you’ve never done before.

In the last few years, rafting has become one of the most popular activities in the world. Today, both the youngest and the oldest – from 3 to 83 – enjoy rubber boats, the first of which were built around 1940.

Did you know that in Banja Luka, the largest city of Republika Srpska, you too can feel an incredible dose of adrenaline and positive energy in Krajina and the Vrbas River? Now you must be troubled by questions such as where and how to book an unforgettable adventure, how long it lasts, is there any reason to be afraid. In the following sentences, I bring you all the necessary information, but also more than that – personal experience, which is also the best guarantee for a “must try”. 😊

RAFTING CLUB BUK – A COMBINATION OF SAFETY AND  FUN

Has it ever happened to you that you have been wanting and planning something for a long time, but the stars never seem to align? I guess it is. Then, suddenly, everything fell into place. This is exactly what happened when it came to going for rafting thanks to the Rafting Club Buk: – Does July 29 suit you? at 1:45 p.m.?; – It fits, but there are three of us, we don’t have a group of 6-8 people!; – Don’t worry, see you.

Before I introduce you to all the charms of rafting, let’s immediately eliminate the belief that you can go rafting only if you have a group of 6-8 people. Not! Thanks to the great organization, the skipper of the club, together with other members, will form a group by merging several smaller groups and, as it was in my case, you will make new acquaintances, hear and share interesting stories, laugh together, swim, jump into the water and rowing as one, and for all that time you will be in the safe hands of a skipper with many years of experience.

With the full right, I say “in safe hands” because you are really in safe hands. Some of them are crowned with as many as 4 European medals and one World medal, while almost all of them have over 10 years of experience. With a little luck, Dejan Marković, one of the proud owners of the mentioned medals, will be the skipper of your boat. Good enough reason to say “Goodbye” to fear, right? 😊

Rafting club Buk has existed since 1976, and today it offers tours of 17 and 22 km. The starting point, that is, the place where you will get the mandatory equipment – a helmet, vest and dedicated shoes, is located at Jesenjinova 1, and after that you will take a van to the starting point of the unforgettable three-hour adventure. After a short training on how and when to row and after everyone is provided with a helmet and a vest, as well as a paddle, the day can begin when you will go down the Vrbas for 22 km (in our case), a day when someone will have the opportunity to overcome the fear of heights, but also when he/she will feel the charms of body rafting.

MOMENTS THAT YOU WILL REMEMBER FOR YOUR WHOLE LIFE

A nice and warm day, a friendly and friendly skipper Filip is all you need to replace the city crowd and noise with rafting, with additional options available: swimming on the most beautiful beaches of Vrbas, which can only be reached by boat, jumping from a bridge about 5 m high (for those who are not afraid or want to overcome their fear), cliff jumping, but also body rafting. Of course, nothing is mandatory. There were also those of us who photographed and filmed the bravest ones who dared to jump from the bridge, but also those who replaced the bridge with a lower rock afterward…😊

The “icing on the cake” was body rafting. Going down a rapid without a boat, with a vest and helmet as a “must have” sounds interesting, wouldn’t you agree?

If you think that’s the end, you’re wrong! In addition to all of the above, the skipper will be happy to introduce you to the charms of the regions through which you are rowing, and he will share many interesting stories and anecdotes with you.

YOU PAY AT THE START, YOU RETURN HOME RICHER

It doesn’t matter if you are from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, or Albania, if you decide to visit Banja Luka and feel all its charms, then rafting on Vrbas is the best recommendation I can give you. Choose a day, and an hour, contact the Rafting Club Buk and let yourself be taken by the river and take my word for it – for 50 KM (25 Euros), which is how much the tour costs per person, you will come back richer, happier and prouder of yourself for having experienced an adventure like this.

I am leaving you Facebook and Instagram links of Rafting Club Buk through which you can schedule your appointment for a perfect day.

P.S. Rafting club Buk is the originator of the idea of “Full Moon” rafting, which means everything described, but with a full moon! Enticing? Very! Carefully monitor when the next night adventure is, so you can book your appointment in time.
