How to take advantage of the sunny weekend? Hurry up to Lonjsko polje for their birthday

If you still don’t have a plan for where to go this weekend, and you want to make the most of the sunny weather, then know that we have the right thing up our sleeve!

We heard from the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park that they are celebrating their birthday on April 6 and that they are planning a series of interesting activities for both adults and the youngest.

Located in the area of the middle course of the Sava River, about 75 km southeast of Zagreb, the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park consists of 50,650 hectares of protected area located along the left bank of the Sava River in a length of about one hundred kilometers.

The park includes as many as 14 villages – Osekovo, Stružec, Čigoč, Kratečko, Mužilovčica, Suvoj, Lonja, Trebež, Puska, Krapje, Drenov Bok, Jasenovac, Košutarica and Mlaka, which provide a unique insight into the life of the ecosystem, as well as biodiversity and history.

It is an area where people have always lived together with nature and is of great importance for the Croatian population. That’s why this is a great opportunity to head to the Krapje Visitor Center, where various creative and educational workshops and traditional games for children await you from 11 a.m., and at noon the celebratory cake will be cut, a real recovery after having so much fun.

But that’s not all. The all-day offer of the park on the occasion of the birthday includes a panoramic ride on the tourist train, sailing on solar-powered boats and the Vodmar boat, driving on electric golf carts, and the opportunity to get to know this wonderful nature park by bike.

There are also guided walks through Krapje đol at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., a walk-in Krapje, a heritage village, and a tour of an ethnic house at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The entire birthday will be covered with an excellent catering offer and accompanied by musical entertainment!
