The pleasure of swimming in the water park
Summer is in full swing, and what better way to cool off than visiting an exciting water park? Aquae Vivae water park is located in the heart of Croatia, in the beautiful town of Krapinske Toplice, so I went to check out the pleasure of summer swimming in the countryside.
Krapinske Toplice is a beautifully decorated and quiet little place in Croatian Zagorje, about 45 km from Zagreb. Once upon a time, they were a fashionable, European spa resort. Today they are trying to restore their old glory.
The Aquae Vivae water park is a modern building integrated into the gentle hills of Zagorje. It has a total area of 18,000 m2, there are 5 indoor (of which 1 combined indoor and outdoor) and 1 outdoor pool with a total water area of over 1,500 m2. All pools are filled with natural, spring, medicinal, and thermo-mineral water, and the water temperature was just right, in my opinion, around 33 degrees.
Even though we came on Saturday, there was no crowd, we quickly changed into swim suits. There was an opportunity to swim and lie on deckchairs and go down the slide. The ticket price, for me and my boyfriend, for three hours of swimming is 17 euros, with a student discount.
Everything is neat and clean, so I had no complaints. There is also a cafe within the building, so we took a break with coffee and ice cream. Espresso is 1.3 euros, and coffee with milk is 1.70.
After swimming, you get very hungry, so I found the nearby restaurant Bonaca online, where we finally decided to eat some meat. Guys, this was really tasty and quite plentiful. We couldn’t even eat it all. The price for a meal for two is 34 euros, and three could comfortably be fed. If you are like me heh, heh…
All in all, the trip was really okay, we enjoyed it and had a great time. I believe we will do it again a few more times.
