Three years of discovering the Adria region together
Some projects are created from a business idea. Others are created from a feeling. From the very beginning, Adria.fun belonged to the second group.
When we started three years ago, we did not have massive plans written on paper or exact numbers we wanted to reach. What we had was a desire to show the region the way we truly see it. Without filters, without superficial travel guides, and without copy-paste stories that have been circulating online for years. We wanted to find places that would make someone slow down the car, turn towards an unfamiliar village or decide to spend a weekend somewhere they had never been before.
And that is exactly what started happening.
Over these three years, we travelled thousands of kilometres, climbed fortresses barely reachable by navigation apps, entered abandoned tunnels, listened to local legends passed down through generations, and met people who love their homeland so sincerely that after speaking with them, you immediately want to stay one more day.
We also realised something important. People are no longer interested only in “top destinations”. They are interested in stories. Atmosphere. The feeling of a place. They are interested in hidden beaches, old trains, unusual churches, the scents of taverns, forgotten fortresses, and the small details that turn a trip into a memory.
That is why it makes us especially happy that Adria.fun is now read by people from all around the world. We continue to receive messages every day from readers who visited a place for the first time thanks to one of our articles or completely changed their travel plans after reading our stories. Honestly, there is no better motivation than that.
Behind us is another excellent year of the UNDERGROUND ADRIA project. What started as an idea connecting gastronomy, wine, and authentic regional stories has continued to grow, bringing together incredible people, partners and an audience that recognises the importance of creating events with character and identity.
And us? We are already planning new journeys.
Because the more we explore the Adria region, the more we realise how much there is still left to discover.
Thank you for being part of this story. Thank you for following us, reading our articles, sharing our stories, and discovering with us just how incredible this part of Europe truly is.
See you somewhere on the road.
