Zagreb Underground is turning the Grič Tunnel into the most special wine event of the year – here’s why you should come

This weekend, forget about classic parties – go underground, into the legendary Grič tunnel, because Zagreb Underground is waiting for you–a wine, delicacies, art, and entertainment festival combining everything we love. If you need motivation, here are 10 great reasons why you should be there on April 11th and 12th:

1. WINE SPECTACLE IN THE GRIČ TUNNEL

Zagreb Underground transforms a dark, historic tunnel into the epicenter of wine magic. The ambiance is literally cinematic – a walk among lights, music, and the scents of wine and delicacies, as if you have fallen into an underground world of hedonism.

2. WHEN HISTORY IS DIGITALIZED AND WINE IS VIRTUALIZED – YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN THE GRIČ TUNNEL!

The premiere of the VIVAX digital exhibition is also waiting for you at Zagreb Underground, a combination of art, technology, and the capital city’s underground. On the VIVAX screens, images come to life, and historical figures finally get what they’ve been missing—a glass of wine in their hand. All this in pixel-perfect resolution!

3. MORE THAN 400 TYPES OF WINES, 70+ EXHIBITORS, AND TOP WINES FROM SLOVENIA AND CROATIA

Over 70 exhibitors are coming to Zagreb Underground, bringing more than 400 labels of wine and gastronomic delicacies – from fresh Sauvignons and aromatic yellow Muscats (there are as many as 23 of them!) to serious red wines and sparkling wines.

This year, a special place is also given to wines from Slovenia – the festival’s partner country, with labels that rarely come to Croatian events. Ideal for exploring something different – and for a few more conversations with the winemakers behind these wines.

4. MUSIC PLAYS, WINE FLOWS

Zagreb Underground is not just a wine festival but also a festival of entertainment and music. The Dobre Vibracije band brings a mix of pop, reggae, ska, and soul that will make you tap while holding a glass in your hand – or put it down for a while and dance. And for a real groove there is also Ružica Čović with her band, who raise the atmosphere with funky and rock covers that you know by heart.
