It’s an adventure that starts with registration at Trg Svetog Servula in Buja, from where you’ll rush to Trg Slobode where buses will take you every 20 minutes from 9 a.m. to 12 noon to the first point in Sveta Lucija.

From there, with the help of the map you will receive at registration, you will walk through the labyrinth of vineyards of the famous wine-growing localities of Kaštanjari, Školjka, Kontarini, and Sv. Lucija, and every 1.5 kilometers you will come across beautiful viewpoints, views of Buje, Učka, and the Adriatic Sea, as well as wineries and local producers and restaurateurs.

While walking along the carefully planned 10-kilometer-long trail, you will get to know the following winemakers: Bassanese, Kozlović, Coronica, Franković, Degrassi, Clai, Benčić, Fiore vina, Cattunar, Bastiane and Veralda.

Of course, although wine is an excellent fuel for a good time, it must be supported with even better delicacies so that everyone can endure this “hard” walk.

That’s why the organizers of the Istria Wine & Walk decided that you will be able to grease your mustache with Istrian parmigiana from partner Poluotok, bruschetta with wild garlic, cherry tomatoes and pastrami beef from Villa Soša, venison beans and wild garlic from Stara škola, porchetta in ciabatta with cheese and arugula spread by Circolo, try a selection of cheeses from OPG Radošević, enjoy beef stew with polenta and asparagus by partner Food and Wine Primizia, refresh yourself with Hunter’s soup from the Morgan Tavern and, of course, sweeten the trip with the perfect Istrian fritulas by the Italian community Nova Vas.

Along the way, you will try limoncello and orange spritzes prepared by Truba Bar by Aura.

After you have passed them all, at the last refreshment station of Veralda, a bus will take you back to the center of Buje. The festival officially closes at 19:30.

The registration fee for the Istria Wine & Walk is 80 euros per person, and you can register at info@tzo-brtonigla.hr

Sounds like a great opportunity to get to know some new Istrian flavors, right?
