Split Underground brings new energy to the city’s Advent offer

The most beautiful time of the year is approaching, the season of Advent, and with it the second gastroenology festival beneath the ground in the heart of Dalmatia, Split Underground, powered by Adria.fun. The cellars of Diocletian’s Palace will once again become the centre of wine, food, and entertainment for two days.

“After last year’s great success, we are preparing new surprises and tastings of the finest wines, spirits and delicacies from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, as well as Hungary,” announces the event organiser Paula Kovačić, adding: “We invite you to come on 12 and 13 December to the cellars of Diocletian’s Palace from 4 pm to 10 pm. For the first time, we are organising paint and wine workshops by Art Bottega Studio, prize games, and the Dalmatian premiere of a digital wine exhibition created with the help of artificial intelligence, with a new theme ‘It all started with Jesus’, powered by VIVAX.”

For a pleasant stay in the imperial cellars, the walls will be illuminated with festive lighting effects and Advent decorations, while top winemakers and delicacy producers will take care of the good atmosphere.

There is no good party without good music,” says Paula, noting: “On Friday, 12 December, the band C strana will perform, and on Saturday, 13 December, Jelena Buble and Antonio Dragojević are coming — the Split Underground festival has no encore!”

Every visitor receives a wine glass as a gift at the entrance, along with a mini catalogue and a bottle of water to make tastings easier to enjoy. On site, they will also be able to check their breath alcohol level by Mick Dreger, so that after tasting wine and spirits, they do not operate a vehicle.

A limited number of presale tickets is available through the Entrio system, and there will be some at the entrance as well, but at a higher price. “When purchasing, choose the entry time slot that suits you best. This is for your comfort and safety, to avoid excessive crowds. Tickets are sold every 30 minutes in ten slots between 4 pm and 8:30 pm,” notes Paula.
