An opportunity to taste strukli from Zagorje

Štruklijada is an original event whose main goal is to promote Zagorje štrukli, a traditional dish made from fresh cow’s cheese, homemade butter, eggs, and corn flour mixed with wheat flour, coated with homemade cream and baked in a bread oven. Zagorje štrukli, with an enticing smell and taste, carries the European-protected designation of geographical origin.

A total of 14 Zagorje restaurants, agritourism, hotels, special hospitals, and schools compete for the title of the best štrukli. The Štruklijada is being held this year for the 14th time, and for the last four years, it has been held at the same place. This year, too, the selection of the best štrukli will be held on Saturday, June 3 in Bedekovčina, near the Bedekovčina lakes.
