The thermal waters of Benje are natural sulfur springs with water that springs up through deep tectonic cracks. There are a total of 6 springs, each of which flows naturally to the stone bath. These spas are located on both sides of the Langarica Canyon.

The largest and most famous swimming pool is located next to the iconic Kadiut bridge at the beginning of the Langarica Canyon, so this place is also the most visited. You can find other, smaller baths deeper in the canyon.

The water comes with a variable flow of 8 to 40 liters per second and has a temperature of 22-28°C. In reality, the pools themselves are not hot but lukewarm. The springs are of the chlorine-sodium-calcium type and contain many minerals.

Each source has different medicinal properties for the treatment of skin, stomach, kidney, and rheumatic diseases. The water also contains sulfur, which gives it a slightly stinky smell, typical of geothermal springs.

Near you can additionally visit the city of Gjirokastër; one of the most popular destinations in Albania, the terminal baths of  Vronomer, the hot springs of Postenani, and admire river Vjosa; one of the last wild rivers in Europe!
