Everything is ready for pairing more than 200 wines with delicacies and fun in Diocletian’s cellars!
As many as 14 premieres at the first Dalmatian wine & walk festival underground
There are only three days left until the start of the festival, which the whole of Dalmatia is already buzzing about. The first underground wine & walk festival SPLIT UNDERGROUND, this weekend on Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28, will overwhelm all visitors to the imperial cellars of Diocletian’s Palace with good vibes.
Hedonism is thus returning to Split, as music and entertainment will once again be combined with wine tastings and delicacies in this historic location.
More than 200 wines and other drinks and delicacies from exhibitors from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all wine-growing regions of Croatia await visitors at over thirty stands, and as many as 14 of them will have their Dalmatian premiere.
During the festival, Diocletian’s cellars and domes will shine in a new color with light effects, and the organizers say that every day they will be a different color. “I can exclusively announce that on Friday we will paint the old walls in the colors of Hajduk in his honor and glory, and for Saturday let it be a surprise,” said festival organizer Paula Kovačić.
In the musical part of the program on Friday, the great Zorica Andrijašević Donna will perform the greatest hits of the Dalmatian region, and on Saturday, Ružica Čović, the voice from HRT’s The Voice competition, will perform.
The organizers also emphasize the humanitarian aspect of the festival, because by buying a ticket, the work of the Split Srce Association for cerebral palsy patients is also supported.
“The more of us who want to help, at least with a symbolic contribution, the closer we are to fulfilling our mission in this world, to be human when it really should be,” Paula said and continued: We will donate 10% of the income from the net earnings on the tickets, which means that you are also supporting the work of this association in this way, and we have also secured a stand where volunteers of the Srce Association will welcome you, where you can also donate in person”.
The Split Underground festival, in addition to its gastro-enological and entertainment character, allows visitors to view the winemaking exhibition of the future, which was created by artificial intelligence, and where one can see the vision of the development of winemaking until the end of this century.
Every visitor to the Split Underground festival will receive as a gift a unique Split Underground wine glass for occasional tastings, a bottle of spring water, and a mini catalog to make it easier to find your way around the offer and to play an appropriate prize game with the main prize of an extended weekend for two at Hotel Nomad in Bjelašnica.
The working hours of the festival are from 16:00 to 22:00, and tickets can be purchased in advance in the EVENTIM system at a cheaper price of 25 euros. On the days of the festival, the price is 30 euros.
