Drivenik castle will take you back to the Middle Ages! It invites you on a journey through time

Did you know that in just a 15-minute drive from Crikvenica, you can enjoy a touch of history at Drivenik Castle, one of the nine towns from the Law Codex of Vinodol, which was first mentioned as far back as 1288?

Located on a hill, with a view of the valley and Lake Tribalj, it is the perfect destination for a one-day trip, and now you can get to know it even better by returning to the Middle Ages.

In the organization of the Tourist Board of the Vinodol municipality, the Association of Zrinski Frankopans Drivenik, and the Frankopan guards Grobnik, the unique event Drivenik – a traveler through time is about to be held again this year. The event will take place on May 18, and through a rich program, it will take you through the time of one of the most beautiful castles in Croatia.

Although the official opening of the event is at 2:30 p.m., as part of the program that starts at 10 a.m., you can expect a Frankopan kettle from four coastal Frankopan estates. After the event is officially opened, visitors will be able to enjoy the Francopan archery tournament and cheer on the competitors from 2:45 p.m.

During the tournament, the youngest will be able to enjoy the Glagolitic script workshop.

At the end of the tournament, visitors will be able to attend the presentation of the book Frange Pane – The Story of Frankopani by Tomislav Beronić, followed by the battle for Drivenik at 6 p.m. The battle is followed by a Francopan audience, a Francopan minuet, and the announcement of the winner of the archery tournament.

At the very end of the program, a folk party was prepared with a catering offer and the Tramuntana klapa (traditional a cappella singing choir).
