Unbelievable! Lengarica Canyon is a natural wonder that delights visitors
We could list the natural treasures that Albania hides, both on its coast and inland, for days. Although we have already touched on the southern part of Albania on several occasions, we cannot fully cover all its charms. Indeed, there are many of them – from the Osumi Canyon, through Bogova, to Komani and Shala, and many others.
This beautiful country can only be proud of them. However, one very interesting canyon is becoming more and more visited.

It is the canyon of the Lengarica River (alb. Lumi Lengarica), which stretches for 36 kilometers and springs from several streams at the foot of the Gramoz mountain range, while its incredible canyon impresses with its 5 5-kilometer length.
It hid not far from Permet, a small town known for its town stone, irresistible cuisine, flowers, and the river Vjosa, into which Lengerica itself flows in Petran.

Its canyon, otherwise protected and included under the Fir Hotova National Park, was shaped over thousands of years by the action of natural forces and offers scenes that are difficult to describe in words.
It consists of cliffs about 150 meters high, which, when you walk through the crystal clear water, look like you are touching heaven.

But this paradise also has a medicinal benefit, that of the most famous thermal baths of Benje, whose formation was created precisely because of the river Lengerica. It is located next to the iconic Kadiut bridge at the very beginning of the canyon and is very frequented by the local population, but there are also some tourists since tourism in Albania has flourished.
In addition to the healing thermal baths and the bridge, Lengerica also hides numerous caves along its canyon. As the water flow is really low during the summer months, they are very accessible, so you will find at least one on almost every corner.
They say it is most beautiful in the spring when the snow from Gramoz melts, so many people take advantage of that to ride in canoes.
There are many possibilities, so if you find yourself in the south, definitely visit it.
