Anticipation builds as Salajland is set to open its doors any day now

December is right around the corner, and as we’ve delved into Christmas markets and festivities across Slovenia, including the Winter Fest in Kotor and the Festival of Lights in Sarajevo, there’s one particular attraction that stands out, adding to the festive spirit alongside Advent in Zagreb and other cities. And that is renowned Salajland!

The history of this enchanting place traces its roots back to 2001 when Zlatko Salaj, the owner of the estate, embarked on a mission to create a Christmas miracle that he didn’t have a chance to experience in his childhood. After spending numerous years working abroad, he returned home and invested his resources into a heartwarming tale that captivates and excites everyone year after year.

Today, 22 years later, together with his son and his family, in honor of his late wife who was the first person to support him, he creates new story concepts every year in order to bring even more joy to his visitors.

According to their website, this year’s edition of Salajland will begin on December 1st and it will last until January 8th, 2024. The door will be open every day from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays!

The ticket price for adults this year will be 6 EUR per person, and for children up to 7 years and people with disabilities will be free. Payment is only available in cash so make sure to bring it with you. There are no additional charges for parking.

So are you planning on visiting them?
